Rooted in Arab arts and language, Al-Bustan Seeds of Culture offers artistic and educational programming that enriches cross-cultural understanding and celebrates diversity. Al-Bustan Camp is our flagship program, held every July since 2002.
This Arabic alphabet learning tool and game is designed around the theme of Ziryab and Andalusia, and the collective alphabet created by children at Al-Bustan Camp in 2007. As campers explored the arts and culture of Andalusia through the life and accomplishments of Ziryab (~789-857), they used collage to create images representative of Andalusian culture.
The first version of this interactive resource was launched in 2010 using Flash Player. Its design was then updated in 2020 to optimize usability on computers and tablets.
