Ingredients Across Borders: Cinnamon

Monday, December 11, 2017
6:00 - 8:30pm

Free Library of Philadelphia

This collaborative program highlights the culinary uses of cinnamon across borders, as one of many ingredients that have moved and adapted from culture to culture. Our presenters will each with participants to prepare a culturally relevant recipe while learning about the roots and routes of the key ingredient. We will share food stories around a communal table, connecting meals to home and place. Dishes will include: Liberian rice bread, baklava and Sudanese cinnamon tea.

This program is presented in partnership with Al-Bustan Seeds of Culture, as part of An Immigrant Alphabet art installation designed to raise awareness of the experiences of immigrants and refugees.
