Al-Bustan Seeds of Culture is continuing to serve our constituents, despite Covid-related restrictions to public gatherings. I am writing to ask you to show your love for Al-Bustan by supporting our programming with a donation. Your contribution will help fund programs like the following.
Since January, we have
—launched our After-School Arab Arts classes for school children;
—screened a movie as a regional premiere;
—presented an arts workshop on writing as inspired by coffee grounds reading and another on zellij (mosaic tilework);
—delivered professional presentations about Egyptian and Arabic culture, and
—participated in a panel discussion about our recently concluded Egyptian movie poster exhibition.
Our programming has been both virtual and in-person as appropriate. Al-Bustan is planning several original, in person, family-centered engagements in late spring and summer of 2022. Nevertheless, as remote programming is here to stay, we are eager to continue to provide residents in the Philadelphia region, as well as those outside of our area, with virtual programming.
