University Tours and Classroom Engagements
With universal themes and multiple ways to engage around them, An Immigrant Alphabet provides the platform to encourage university students to delve into serious current issues facing the world today in a creative and inspiring way. Our team has enjoyed providing guided tours and in-class presentations to university students studying a variety of subjects such as political science, social work, art, international relations, and linguistics. Our staff members tailor the experience to each course subject and provide guided tours, in-class discussions, and hands-on activities that jumpstart dialogue and promote understanding. Pictured here: International students from Temple University stopped by the plaza to tour and learn more about #iAlphabet! They also took time participate in conversation around our interactive boards to answer questions like “Where do your ancestors come from?” and “What does culture mean to you?”
Community Group Tours
We invite you to schedule a guided tour of An Immigrant Alphabet with corresponding presentations or hands-on activities for your community group. #iAlphabet explores universal themes applicable across generations, professions, and fields. As a result, we have had the pleasure of hosting dozens of guided tours for both local and national civic organizations and professional groups. Members of our community have also organized their own groups to come tour with us in order to gain insight into the making of the installation and the stories behind each component. School Tours and Classroom Engagements
From primary school learners to high school seniors, students have enjoyed exploring themes in An Immigrant Alphabet through tours, games, art activities, and discussions. With the installation's extension into July 2018 more students have had the opportunity to see #iAlphabet through scheduled field trips including a complimentary guided tour and related activities. Our staff members who are experienced teachers in art, music, EFL, and leadership development tailor the experience to each class subject and grade level providing an interactive engagement that inspires students to question, converse, and create.
