In an effort to bring An Immigrant Alphabet project back to Northeast High School, students, teachers, and administrators met with Al-Bustan staff to discuss and plan the Real Talk Discussion  Series starting in Spring 2018.  The first Real Talk  forum was held on October 29, 2018 exploring representations and relationships in the school and community. The next Real Talk forum is scheduled for January 29, 2019.

We hung a composite banner of An Immigrant Alphabet at the school’s main entrance, and printed another edition of  “E for Education” banner for display on the exterior of the school facing Cottman Avenue.  Principal Omar Crowder purchased 150 copies of “America Border Culture Dreamer: The Young Immigrant Experience from A to Z” to gift all the teachers and administrators, with a series of professional development workshops planned for educators early in the new year.
