With singer Hafez Kotain‘s debut CD release, it was a pleasure for Al-Bustan to host Hafez Kotain & Ensemble on Friday July 27, 2018 at the Trinity Center for Urban Life for a concert of lively music from across the Arab world!
While guests clapped along, danced, and enjoyed mezze made by Osama Herkal and sweets made by Asma Diab, the musicians played pop and classical selections from Egypt, Palestine, Syria, Lebanon, and Iraq. The captivating voice of Hafez Kotain was front and center throughout the evening, inviting the audience to clap, dance, and revel in an evening of tarab music. The Ensemble, led by Gabriel Dahrie on violin, included Sam Younes on keyboard, Roukos Jacobs on guitar, George Maamari on buzuq, Joseph Ibrahim on tableh, Nazir Al-Masry on katem/riq, Ryan Tabshi on tabl/katem, and Bashir Dahrieh on drums.
