Al-Bustan’s Arabic Course for Youth resumes this summer! The course begins the week of June 6th and meets on Mondays and Thursdays from 6-7pm ET on Zoom. Students grade 4 and older learn Modern Standard Arabic with Instructor Fadi Skeiker at the Beginner level, with flexibility for learners of different proficiencies.
This 10-week course runs the week of June 6 through the week of August 22, with a two-week break from June 20-July 1 during Al-Bustan Camp. The 10-week program fee is $200. We offer a 10% sibling discount.

Fadi Skeiker
Syrian-born Fadi Skeiker holds a BA from the Higher Institute of Theatrical Arts in Damascus, an MA from Emerson College in Boston and a PhD from the University of Texas at Austin. Fadi is an educator and a scholar who has been teaching collaboration, directing, script analysis and theater styles at UArts for four years. Before joining UArts, Skeiker taught at the University of Jordan, the University of Minho in Portugal and the University of Texas at Austin. He also served as a visiting researcher at Free University of Berlin in Germany. Skeiker has directed, devised and led applied theater work all over the world in Egypt, Germany, Jordan, Portugal and the U.S and is a published scholar who focuses on theater as it relates to human rights and refugees.
Fadi has worked with Al-Bustan as an Arabic instructor for our Let’s Speak Arabic! conversational Arabic course, held in partnership with the Free Library of Philadelphia, as well as taught at Al-Bustan Camp! We are excited to have him teach our Arabic Course for Youth this summer!
